Wapos Bay: There's No I In Hockey is part of the Wapos Bay series that features stop-motion animation stories about three Cree children in a remote Northern Saskatchewan community. The stories follow the everyday adventures of ten-year-old T-Bear, 9-year-old Talon and 6-year-old Raven. Their friends, families, and Elders play significant roles in their adventures as the children engage in traditional activities such as fishing, gathering, and hunting. Their lives are also influenced by video games, TV and cell phones. In this episode the children learn valuable lessons about team sports and competition through a hockey tournament and a bannock competition. The children's grandparents offer valuable learning opportunities during the Wapos Bay Winter Festival. Series creators Dennis and Melanie Jackson draw on their Cree cultural traditions to produce this enjoyable and educational animation program suitable for grades 1 to six. Each DVD is 24-minutes long and contains English and Cree language versions of the story.
