Ogemawahj Tribal Council Resources are a set of six community profile books published by Nelson. This set of books was developed by the Ogemawahj Tribal Council and the Chippewas of Rama First Nation, Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation, Beausoleil First Nation, Moose Deer Point First Nation, Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, Alderville First Nation. Each community profile is unique and shares information on each Nation. After an introduction, Our Land discusses the location and territory, and land use; history; governance focussing on local leadership; contemporary life highlights population, language, tradition and culture, food, clothing, homes, transportation, employment and economic development, education, and recreation. The chapters on Issues and Closing Thoughts are specific to each Nation. Each chapter therefore provides a rich overview of each Nation. A map and colour photographs of each First Nation are provided. An accompanying Resource Guide is a collaboration with school boards for grades 3,5, and 7 and meets Ontario curriculum requirements and is sold separately.
