This award-winning documentary from the National Film Board of Canada candidly explores the legacy of abuse in a small Ojibwe community in Manitoba. The courageous people of the community rally to overcome the inter-generational sexual and physical abuse and work to find healing. In particular one specific family strives to practice healing through restorative justice circles and traditional healing methods. Although the content is at times disturbing and painful, this film provides a necessary and truthful perspective of a First Nation dealing with family violence and the criminal justice system in a wholistic and positive manner.
