| Fire on the Land, is an interactive computer DVD with a host of features, including a reading of Beaver Steals Fire in Salish and English, interviews with Elders, a photo gallery, a primer on fire ecology, a database on fire-adapted plant and animal species, historical information about the Salish and Pend d?Oreille Nations, and perspectives from tribal fire managers. It is part on the two-disc set, Native Peoples and Fire in the Northern Rockies, created by the Salish Kootenai Nations. It also contains Beaver Steals Fire: A Salish Coyote Story DVD. This DVD set is recommended for grades 7 and up to senior high school and postsecondary. |
