| Dancing the Dream video is a documentary produced by the Anglican Church of Canada about the 2nd Native Convocation, a gathering of Native Anglicans from across Canada. The first gathering held in 1988 was called Sharing the Dream. Native people have been part of the Anglican Church since the 1700s, but the history of the relationship remains painful for many, especially those who attended Anglican residential schools. The process of healing is often difficult to watch but this video explores the very personal experiences of some of the 100 people who gathered in the summer of 1993 at Minaki Lodge in northern Ontario. This video represents the difficult road of healing that must take place in Canada for those individuals, families and communities who experienced the residential school system. The book, Dancing the Dream: The First Nations and the Church in Partnership, discusses this issue in print form. OUT OF PRINT |
