Spring Blizzard is a children's picture book about a ten-year-old girl in Northern Canada who goes out to play during a spring blizzard. Susan gets dressed in her snow pants, kamiks, scarf, and parka and ventures out into the snow with her pet dog. They run and jump and make snow houses. The joy and exhilaration she feels is conveyed in the storyline and illustrations. After they race home, Susan greets her mother and sister with the simple phrase, I'm back. This is an enjoyable book for young readers about the life of a contemporary Native child in Canada's North.
