| Wisk Nikaka:rake Ne Iethihsothokon'kenhen Ionkhikaraton:ni is produced by the Kanehsatake Resource Centre, Quebec (Tsi Ronterihwanonhnha Ne Kanien'keha) as a language resource. This kit consists of a 177-page book and a video containing five traditional Mohawk stories. The stories in the book are Ratiweras-The Thunders, Iakotinenioia'ks-The Little People, Tsi Ionontaka:ronte-The Cave, Tohtonha-The Hermit Thrush, and Ohen:ton Karihwatehkwen-Thanksgiving Address. The video contains the five stories with Mohawk narration by Kawinonhsen Audrey Nelson. The five stories are told in Mohawk with English translation. The colour illustrations are simple drawings by a variety of Mohawk artists. The video and book are a valuable Mohawk language resource for knowledgeable Mohawk speakers. |
