OUT OF PRINT This kit is no longer available from the publisher. Our Children, Our Ways - Early Childhood Education in First Nations and Inuit Communities is a video series program produced by Red River College about early childhood education in First Nations and Inuit communities. This educational resource consists of six videos, with accompanying guides, based on early childhood curriculum areas. Filmed in First Nations day care facilities across Canada, the videos include images of cultural, linguistic and community relevant programming in diverse communities. Elders, parents, and care providers share their knowledge about developing programs that reflect the values, experiences, languages, and priorities of their communities. The guides expand on the central messages of the videos and provide practical planning and activity ideas. The videos address the importance of childcare in the circle of caring, speaking our languages, exploring the natural world, music and dance, telling stories and reading books, and supporting children's art. This series is a valuable resource for early childhood education training and any individual or group working with First Nations' families and their children. The six videos can also be purchased separately.
