Former RCMP officer and professor looks at the suicide of Ojibwe artist Benjamin Chee Chee. From newspaper accounts and limited interviews, the author tackles the issue of suicide among Aboriginal People. The sources and interviews are limited and the resulting slim text is a disappointment. Unfortunately the author did not interview well-known First Nations artists and curators for another view of Chee Chee's artistic career. Instead he relies on the perspectives of gallery owners and newspaper writers.
