Alberta Elders' Cree Dictionary - Alperta Ochi Kehtehayak Nehiyaw Otwestamakewasinahikan began as a project in the mid-1970s by Sister Nancy LeClaire, a Samson Cree from Hobbema, Alberta. The result is a valuable Cree language resource, specifically the Woods Cree and Plains Cree. The Cree-English and English-Cree sections are supplemented with a New Terms section that makes for a dictionary of contemporary Cree language usage. This dictionary is a recommended reference text for language teachers, libraries and individuals interested in Plains Cree. A hardcover edition is also available. This book is on the list of recommended Aboriginal titles developed by staff of the (SOLS) Southern Ontario Library Service and the Ontario Library Service North for the Aboriginal Library Book Investment by the Ontario Ministry of Culture into the Ontario Public Libraries.
