Chief Jacob Thomas was considered one of the most knowledgeable people from Six Nations regarding The Great Law and the Handsome Lake Code. Chief Thomas was at the forefront of local community efforts to preserve and promote the languages and ceremonies. In 1982 Chief Thomas recorded the narrative of the Peacemaker's Journey in Mohawk. Two audiocassettes are 90 minutes each and the third is 15 minutes in length. Chief Thomas recites The Great Law in Mohawk. The set of audiocassettes is intended for Mohawk language students and those interested in learning The Great Law.
