OUT OF STOCK Mohawk for Beginners was originally developed by Josephine S. Horne for the Kahnawake Mohawk Curriculum Centre. Chief Jacob Thomas, Six Nations of the Grand River, Ontario, revised this introduction to Mohawk to reflect Six Nations spelling and pronunciation. The package is organized into 112 brief lessons covering simple conversation and vocabulary. Topics such as greetings, commands, numbers, activities of daily living, animals, food and weather are covered. Mohawk lyrics for songs Jingle Bells, Mary had a Little Lamb, Canoe Song, Mosquito Song, The Year has Come to an End, Bear Song, and Cornbread Song are included. Jacob Thomas recorded the Mohawk in 1996. The value of this package is enhanced by the recording format - the English phrase is spoken first followed by the Mohawk phrase. This is an ideal beginner package for any age/grade level. Package includes two 22-minute audiocassettes and a 30-page cerlox bound book.
