Inuit Legends CD, Volume 2, produced by CBC Radio North is a 2-disc spoken word CD that contains five traditional Inuit stories. The first disc is the Inuktitut language version and the second is the English version. The legends are The Man From the Moon, the story of the people who live on the moon; Qallupalik, the Sea Creature, the story of a child who did not listen to the teachings of the sea creature; Creation of the Loon, the story of how a woman's love for her husband turns her into the first Arctic loon; Lumaajuug, the Story of the Blind Boy, a story about how a blind child regains sight after unfair treatment from his mother; and An Arctic Lullaby, the story about the ptarmigan's unique colouring and how it received its voice, plus why the Snow Bunting returns each spring. Actors featured include Inuit men and women as well as throat singers who provide background vocals. The dramatic storytelling is enhanced by the intonation and storytelling skills of the actors. The stories feature mature themes.
