| Changes: The Turtle's Teaching on CD is a unique Metis storytelling product. The text for the CD is taken from the Penny Condon book, Changes, a story about a young Metis girl who learns about changing emotions and the changing seasons. The wise teachings of Gathering Spirit (Mooshom) help Kona understand her feeling of happiness, sadness, anger, and surprise. The narration of the story begins in English with an explanation of the teaching contained in the story. The second part of the CD tells the same story in Michif. The CD is professionally produced with appropriately subtle background music by Metis musician James (Billie) Rowluck. Each story is about 2 minutes in length. This is a valuable storytelling resource for primary level students. It introduces young children to the gentle teachings of the Metis by helping children explore their changing emotions. |
