Apanimowinaynce Sound and Vocabulary for the Advanced Learner consists of two audiocassettes and a 75-page manual. The package was produced by Ojibwe Mekana of Duluth, Minnesota, an Ojibwe language program. This package was designed for learners who have mastered the Ojibwemodah! Sound and Vocabulary for the Intermediate Learner program. The producers designed the manual as a pocket guide for advanced Ojibwe language learning. The learner must be familiar with the basic tenses and should participate in daily conversations with another speaker. The authors note that their goal is fluency and caution that this manual does not contain dialect differences. The speaker on the audiocassette, Larry Amik Smallwood, pronounces each word once then uses the term in an appropriate sentence. The content covers the simple tense review, time and place markers, the negative category, commands, food terms, root words, place names, weather, declaratives, and useful sentences for conservation. The final section includes a vocabulary list covering anatomy, days, months, colours, kinship, animals, numbers, and additional language resources. This package is recommended for educators and individuals who want to further their Ojibwe language fluency.
